Since the beginning of the seventies figuration of the material itself in the most reduced form plays
a central role in my work.
This evolved from the need of images without “connotation”, pretensions or double bottoms.
Images that are simple and of themselves, that do not need explanation or translation.
Something does not have to be thrown away when it is wrinkled or folded, stained or smeared,
but can instead be reversed in a visual force.
The banal wrinkle- and foldability of paper, cotton, metal etc in relation to the miscibility of colour,
hardness of pencil.
